WATSONVILLE >> Twenty-one years ago, the Pajaro Valley Unified School District signed an offer to dedicate land on property near Pajaro Valley High School, which was still in the development stages at the time, as an agricultural buffer zone. The Watsonville City Council will consider a resolution acknowledging the acceptance of this offer for the conservation easement and declaration of restrictions on the property at its Tuesday meeting. According to a staff report by interim Public Works Director Tamara Vides and Assistant Public Works Director Murray Fontes, the request was made by the California Coastal Commission, as the offer was a condition of the coastal development permit issued by the commission and city for the construction of the high school on Harkins Slough Road.
